From the Cover

Stand-up comedian Nina G is challenging how people think of stuttering. Her comedy is funny, revealing, unapologetic, and always a window into her experience as a person with disabilities. Here, she tells the story of how finding her voice awoke her lifelong dream of becoming a stand-up comedian.

My Thoughts

Nina shares a different story in each chapter. She shares everything from her school experience, her dating life, her journey to becoming a stand-up comedian and everything in between.

Most of these stories shed light onto people that don’t have knowledge about stuttering. People make assumptions and often times they can be very cruel. She found herself refraining from speaking because she didn’t want to “inflict” her stuttering on other people.

Sutterer Interrupted

You might have noticed but I typically stay away from books that remind me of a text book. I enjoy reading about people’s stories. She made me laugh, and honestly made me feel a little empowered! This is definitely one that you should add to your TBR (to be read) pile.
